Turning a Mom’s Tea-Time Ritual into a Purposeful Wellness Brand

Tot Tea is a wellness tea brand based in Toronto, created by a mother who needed a better way to keep her kids hydrated when they weren’t feeling well. What started as a calming ritual between parent and child evolved into a product line built around care, comfort, and simplicity.

Project Highlights

The founder of Tot Tea had a brilliant product idea born out of necessity. Maybe tea isn’t the first thing you’d think to give your child, but keeping a child hydrated when they’re sick or not feeling well is an important task. She found that herbal teas, especially ones with soothing ingredients like chamomile, helped her toddlers stay hydrated, calm, and more comfortable during colds or restless moments. From that experience, a thoughtful wellness ritual was born.

Tot Tea came to BrandMuse with a strong product concept and a clear sense of purpose. Our role was to translate that clarity into a brand system that would resonate with modern wellness-minded parents. From the outset, we worked to ensure Tot Tea’s brand would feel gentle and trustworthy without leaning into clichéd children’s product tropes. We guided the development of a minimalist visual identity that reflected wellness and calm, avoiding overly bright or juvenile cues.

The packaging was designed to communicate function at a glance (hydration, comfort, and a calming chamomile-base) while still appealing to modern parents with a clean, elevated look. Beyond visual direction, we advised on messaging hierarchy, naming structure for future SKUs, and packaging layout strategy to support both boutique retail and e-commerce readiness.
